Application No. 2006-1187-3 |
|
Application by My Broadcasting
Corporation to amend the licence of
radio programming undertaking CHMY-FM Renfrew, Ontario. |
|
The licensee proposes to amend
the licence by changing the frequency of its transmitter CHMY-FM-1
Arnprior from 104.7 MHz (channel 284LP) to 107.7 MHz (channel 299A). |
|
The licensee also proposes to
change the authorized contours of CHMY-FM-1 Arnprior by
increasing the effective radiated power from 50 watts to 1,000 watts and
by decreasing the antenna height (non-directional antenna/antenna height
45.5 metres). |
|
The authorized contours of the
transmitter will be increased significantly resulting from the proposed
technical changes. |
|
The Commission notes that the
increase in power would change the status CHMY-FM-1 Arnprior from an
unprotected low power service to a regular Class A service. |

Application by Access
Communications Co-operative Limited to amend the licences of its
cable distribution undertakings serving the above-mentioned locations. |
|
The licensee proposes to delete
the condition of licence, applicable to its Regina undertaking, relating
to the use of local availabilities, which reads: |
|
The licensee may, at its option, insert certain promotional
material as a substitute for the "local availabilities" (i.e.
non-Canadian advertising material) of non-Canadian satellite
services. At least 75% of these local availabilities must be made
available for use by licensed Canadian programming services for the
promotion of their respective services, for the promotion of the
community channel and for unpaid Canadian public service
announcements. A maximum of 25% of the local availabilities may be
made available for the promotion of discretionary programming
services and packages, customer service information, channel
realignments, cable FM service and additional cable outlets;
|
|
and by adding the following
condition of licence to both the Regina and White City undertakings:
|
|
The licensee may, at its option, insert certain promotional
material as a substitute for the "local availabilities" (i.e.,
non-Canadian advertising material) of non-Canadian satellite
services. At least 75% of these local availabilities must be made
available for use by licensed Canadian programming services for the
promotion of their respective services, for the promotion of the
community channel, and for unpaid Canadian public service
announcements. A maximum of 25% of the local availabilities may be
used to provide subscribers with information regarding customer
service and channel realignments, and for the promotion of
discretionary programming services and packages, cable FM service,
additional cable outlets and non-programming services, including
Internet and telephone services.
