As part of its renewal application, Milestone
Radio Inc. (Milestone) provided details related to the fulfilment
of its Canadian talent development (CTD) expenditures set out in New

CRTC 2000-203, 16 June
2000 (Decision 2000-203). In
Decision 2000-203, Milestone
committed to CTD expenditures totalling $300,000 annually. These included
funding to support live broadcasts of jazz and other concerts, Summer
Rhythms and Word Beat concerts and annual R&B/Gospel-pop concerts,
as well as annual scholarships and grants. Milestone’s CTD contributions
also included support of the Triple Urban-Mix Series talent search
and funding to the CTD plan created by the Canadian Association of
Broadcasters. The Commission has reviewed the licensee’s achievements
in this area and is satisfied that its original CTD expenditures have
been completed. |
