On Monday, September 30, 2002, Her Excellency the Governor General of Canada read the
Speech from the Throne (SFT), in the Senate Chamber on Parliament
Hill in Ottawa.
A Speech from the Throne opens every new session of Parliament. The SFT,
and the Prime Minister's speech in response to
it,
set out the government's commitments to Canadians and the
policies and programs the government will implement during
the session.
A new Speech from the Throne will be read by Her Excellency, the Governor General of Canada, on Monday, February 2, 2004, at approximately 3:30 PM (EST).
At that time, the new Speech will be posted on the Prime Minister's site, at www.pm.gc.ca. |
