Decision CRTC: 2001-419

BY FAX: (613) 724-5668

Ottawa, 20 July 2001

Lanny Morry
Director, Regulator Affairs
Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
250 Lanark Avenue
Ottawa, Ontario
K1Z 6R5

Application No. 2001-0722-8 - Approved
Extension of time limit to 14 November 2001 to implement a transmitter at Sherbrooke, Quebec – Canadian Broadcasting Corporation

Dear Lanny Morry:

This is further to your request of 26 June 2001, for an extension of the time limit to implement a transmitter at Sherbrooke, Quebec to rebroadcast the programming of CBM-FM Montréal, as approved in Decision CRTC 99-466 dated 14 October 1999.

Please be advised that the Commission approves your request and hereby grants a 4 month extension of time limit, until 14 November 2001.

This extension does not of course, relieve you of your responsibility to implement a transmitter at Sherbrooke, Quebec at the earliest possible date.

Should the completion of the new installations not be completed within the period stipulated in this decision letter or, should the Commission refuse to approve an extension requested by the licensee, the licence will not be amended.

As stipulated in Decision 99-466, the licence will only be amended when the transmitting facility is constructed and ready to begin operation. Consequently, the applicant is required to advise the Commission, in writing, once it has completed construction and is prepared to commence operation of the undertaking, at which time, the Commission will amend the licence.

This decision letter is available for public examination at the Commission’s central office. The Commission also requires you to append this decision letter to Decision CRTC 99-466.

Yours sincerely,

Ursula Menke
Secretary General
