Further to its Notices of Public Hearing CRTC 2001-10, 2001-10-1 and 2001-10-2 dated 14, 18 and 20 September 2001 relating to the Public Hearing which will be held on 19 November 2001, at the Mont-Royal Centre, 2200 Mansfield Street, Auditorium Room, Montréal, Quebec, the Commission announces the following:

ITEM 4

THE ORIGINAL APPLICATIONS WHICH WERE PUBLISHED IN NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CRTC 2001-10 ARE REPLACED BY THE FOLLOWING APPLICATION:

Katinniq (Raglan Mine) and Kilometre 38, Quebec
Application No. 2001-0708-8

Application by SOCIÉTÉ MINIÈRE RAGLAN DU QUÉBEC LTÉE to acquire the assets of the radiocommunication distribution undertaking serving Katinniq (Raglan Mine) currently held by Mary Van Walleghem.

The applicant is also requesting a licence to continue the operation of the undertaking upon surrender of the licence issued to Mary Van Walleghem.

The applicant proposes to decrease the effective radiated power of its radiocommunication distribution undertaking at Katinniq, which rebroadcasts the programs of CITÉ-FM Montréal, from 150 watts to 106 watts.

The applicant also proposes to distribute, in non-encrypted mode, at Katinniq, the programming services of CFFB (CBC) Iqaluit, Nunavut, on frequency 93.5 MHz (channel 228) with an effective radiated power of 106 watts.

Further, the applicant proposes to add a transmitter at Kilometre 38, to distribute, in non-encrypted mode, the programming of CITÉ-FM (IND) Montréal, Quebec which will operate on frequency 98.5 MHz (channel 253) with an effective radiated power of 150 watts. The applicant states that this would benefit the mine workers travelling the road between Katinniq and Deception Bay.

The Commission will only proceed with this application at the public hearing if advised by the Department of Industry, at least ten days prior to the hearing, that it is technically acceptable.
