Application processed by Public Notice CRTC 2000-147
dated 27 October 2000
|
|
Addition of a transmitter of CBN-FM
|
1. |
The Commission approves the application to amend the
broadcasting licence for the radio programming undertaking CBN-FM St.
John's (the originating station), by authorizing the licensee to add a
transmitter at Corner Brook. The transmitter will operate on
frequency 91.1 MHz (channel 216A) with an effective
radiated power of 3,000 watts. |
2. |
The transmitter will offer the CBC's Radio Two service. |
3. |
The authority will be effective and the licence will be amended only
when the licensee confirms in writing that it is ready to begin
operation. This must take place within 12 months of today’s date.
Any request for an extension to that deadline requires Commission
approval and must be made in writing within that period. |
4. |
The Department of Industry has advised that this application is
conditionally technically acceptable, subject to determination that there
will be no unacceptable interference with NAV/COM services. When the
Department has certified that a broadcasting certificate has been or will
be issued, the amendment approved in this decision will be valid
(section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act).
