Bell Canada
Tariff Notice 6551
KeyPak High Speed promotion
1.
The Commission approves Bell Canada's request to revise its General Tariff Item 685 for the addition of a promotion for KeyPak High Speed, from 11 February to 15 May 2001, but denies the addition of a promotion for KeyPak Dial to run during the same period.
2.
The KeyPak High Speed promotion provides that:
- customers subscribing to KeyPak High Speed bundle will be charged the KeyPak Dial bundle rates for two months. At the end of the two months, they may convert, if they choose, to the KeyPak Dial bundle without incurring service charges;
- customers who migrate from the KeyPak Dial bundle to the KeyPak High Speed will be charged the KeyPak Dial bundle rate for two months. At the end of the two months, customers can revert to the KeyPak Dial bundle without incurring service charges; and
- any customer returning to Bell Canada from an alternate provider of local service would receive a further $50 credit applied to their bill for the first month's service.
3.
With respect to the KeyPak Dial promotion, the Commission notes that there have been previous promotions for KeyPak Dial. The Commission considers that, with the three-month extension under Tariff Notice 6551, the promotion for
KeyPak Dial would exceed the 12-month period and therefore it would not be appropriate to approve the proposed promotion without the support of an imputation test.
4.
Bell Canada is directed to issue forthwith tariff pages reflecting the determinations in this order to be effective 11 February 2001.
5.
Bell Canada filed the application on 20 December 2000.
