Application processed by Public Notice CRTC 2001-28
dated 20 February 2001
|
|
Licence amendment
|
1. |
The Commission approves the application for authority to
amend the licence for the radiocommunication distribution
undertaking serving New Denver, by authorizing the licensee to: |
|
- move the Open Learning Agency (Knowledge Network) from channel
19 to channel 8 and reduce the transmitter power from 100 to 10 watts;
|
|
- add transmitters to distribute, in non-encrypted mode, the
television programming services CHAN-TV (BCTV) Vancouver,
KING-TV (NBC) Seattle, KIRO-TV (CBS) Seattle, KCTS-TV (PBS)
Seattle, and KOMO-TV (ABC) Seattle, using channels 3, 6, 10, 11
and 13, each with a transmitter power of 10 watts.
|
|
- add transmitters to distribute, in non encrypted mode, the
radio programming services CBC Radio 2 on frequency 98.3 MHz,
channel 252LP, with an effective radiated power of 5.1 watts,
CFMI-FM on frequency 96.3 MHz, channel 242LP, with an effective
radiated power of 20 watts, and KISN-FM on frequency 94.3
MHz, channel 232LP with an effective radiated power of 5.1 watts.
|
2. |
With regard to the FM radio transmitters, the Department of
Industry has advised the Commission that this application is
conditionally technically acceptable. The Department will only issue
a broadcasting certificate once it has determined that the proposed
technical parameters will not create any unacceptable interference
with aeronautical NAV/COM services.
|
3. |
The technical parameters approved in this decision are for a
low-power unprotected FM service. The applicant would have to select
another frequency for the operation of the service if required to do
so to permit the best use of the frequency band. |
