Public Notice CRTC 2001-49
dated 8 May 2001
|
|
Addition of a transmitter of CFMM-FM Prince Albert at Waskesiu
Lake
|
1. |
The Commission approves the application to amend the
broadcasting licence for the radio programming undertaking CFMM-FM
Prince Albert (the originating station), by authorizing the licensee
to add a transmitter at Waskesiu Lake. |
2. |
This transmitter will enable the licensee to adequately serve the
population of Waskesiu Lake.
|
3. |
As proposed, the new FM transmitter will operate on frequency
92.1 MHz, channel 221A1, with an effective radiated power of 58
watts.
|
4. |
The authority will be effective and the licence will be amended
only at such time as:
|
|
· the licensee confirms in writing that it is ready to begin
operation of the transmitter. This must take place within 12
months of today’s date. Any request for an extension to that
deadline requires Commission approval and must be made in writing
within that period.
|
|
· the Department of Industry, having advised that the
application is conditionally technically acceptable, has
determined that there is no unacceptable interference with NAV/COM
services and indicated that it will issue a broadcasting
certificate (section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act).
|
5. |
The Commission has noted the comments expressed in an
intervention to this application and is satisfied with the
licensee's response.
