Decision CRTC 2001-528Ottawa, 28 August 2001 Serge Bellerose
Dear Sir: This letter is to inform you that the Commission has approved your applications to extend the implementation date for the category 1 French-language specialty services known as LCN Affaires, Télé Ha! Ha! and Canal Mystère (formerly 13ième Rue). The Commission grants an extension to 30 September 2002. The Commission notes, however, that this extension does not relieve you of the responsibility to commence operation of the above-mentioned specialty services as soon as possible. Should you not be able to commence operation of these specialty services upon expiry of the period stipulated in this decision, or should the Commission deny an application for future extensions filed by the licensee, the licences will not be issued. As stipulated in the decisions, these authorizations will only be effective and the licences will only be issued at such time as the specialty services are ready to commence operation. Consequently, the applicant is required to notify the Commission, in writing, before the expiry of the ten (10) month extension granted, or any other extension granted, once it is ready to commence operation of the specialty services LCN Affaires, Télé Ha! Ha! and Canal Mystère, so the licences can be issued. Also note that the Commission does not intend to tie its expectation with respect to distributors as discussed in Public Notice CRTC 2001-82 regarding the launch of foreign French-language specialty services to the extended launch date of your new category 1 services. Yours truly, Ursula Menke Date Modified: 2001-09-10 |
