Mr. R. Scott Colbran

Dear Mr. Colbran:

Re:  Application No. 2001-0714-5 – Approved to 30 August 2001
Request to extend the trust arrangement in respect of certain voting interests in CTV SportsNet Inc.
Licensee of SportsNet - National

Reference is made to your letter of 20 June 2001 in which you seek Commission authority for an extension of the trust arrangement in the context of the sale of CTV Inc. (CTV)’s voting interest in CTV SportsNet Inc. (SportsNet). The trustee’s authority is to expire on 29 June 2001.

The Commission has considered your request and has decided to extend the authority for the trust arrangement for a sixty-day period, until 30 August 2001.

All letters of approval issued by the Commission are made available for public examination at the Commission’s central office and the regional office. The Commission also requires you to append this letter to the SportsNet licence.

Finally, this letter is not to be interpreted in any way as an indication that the Commission is predisposed to authorize the subsequent applications relating to the transaction.

Yours sincerely,

Ursula Menke
Secretary General
