CHNU-TV Fraser Valley and its transmitter in Victoria – Technical
change

The Commission approves the application
by Rogers Broadcasting Limited, the licensee of the television programming
undertaking, CHNU-TV Fraser Valley (known as OMNI BC), to change
the authorized contours of the transmitter authorized in CHNU-TV
Fraser Valley, CIIT-TV Winnipeg – Acquisition of assets, new transmitter
in Victoria, and new licences, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2005-207,
20 May 2005, by relocating the transmitter, by decreasing the
antenna height, and by increasing the average effective radiated power
from 720 watts to 17,000 watts. |

The licensee indicated that the new site
will improve the potential reliability of OMNI BC’s signal and improve
efficiencies in the construction of the antenna site. |

The Commission did not receive any
interventions in connection with this application. |

The Commission reminds the licensee that,
pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this
authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry
notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met,
and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued. |
