CISQ-FM Squamish – Licence renewal
|
1. |
The Commission renews the
broadcasting licence for the English-language commercial radio
programming undertaking CISQ-FM Squamish, from 1 September 2006 to
31 August 2013. |
2. |
The Commission received one intervention in
support of this application. |
3. |
The licence will be subject to the conditions
set out in New licence form for commercial radio stations,
Public Notice CRTC 1999-137,
24 August 1999, as well as to the following conditions: |
|
- The licensee shall, in any broadcast week, devote a maximum of 85%
of its musical selections from content category 2 to hit material,
as defined in Revised policy on the use of hits by English-language
FM radio stations, Public Notice CRTC 1997-42,
23 April 1997, as amended from time to time.
|
|
- CISQ-FM operates in a single-station market as set out in Local
programming policy for FM radio – Definition of a single-station
market, Public Notice CRTC 1993-121,
17 August 1993. Accordingly, it is exempt from the requirement
that, in order to solicit or accept local advertising, one-third
of its programming must be local. Nevertheless, the licensee is
required to continue to broadcast, at a minimum, 3 hours each
week of station-produced programming on CISQ-FM.
|
4. |
Because this licensee is subject to the
Employment Equity Act and files reports concerning employment equity
with the Department of Human Resources and Skills Development,
its employment equity practices are not examined by the Commission. |
