CIVR-FM Yellowknife – Licence renewal
|
1. |
The Commission renews the
broadcasting licence for the French-language, Type A community FM radio
programming undertaking CIVR-FM Yellowknife, from 1 September 2006 to 31
August 2013. |

The Commission received an intervention in
support of this application. |
3. |
The licence will be subject to the conditions
set out in New licence form for community radio stations, Public
Notice CRTC 2000-157,
16 November 2000, and to the following conditions: |

- The licensee shall devote, in each broadcast week, at least 20% of
the musical selections broadcast to musical selections from content
subcategories other than subcategory 21 (Pop, rock and dance).

- The licensee shall devote, in each broadcast week, at least 5% of
the musical selections broadcast to musical selections from content
category 3 (Special interest music).
|
|
- The licensee shall adhere to the Canadian Association of
Broadcasters’ (CAB) Broadcast code for advertising to children
and to the CAB’s Sex-role portrayal code for television and radio
programming, as amended from time to time and approved by the
Commission.

The Commission considers that community
radio stations should be particularly sensitive to employment equity
issues in order to reflect fully the communities they serve. It
encourages the licensee to consider these issues in its hiring practices
and in all other aspects of its management of human resources. |
