    Public Notice CRTC 1997-39
    The Commission has received the following applications:
    WESTERN CANADA AND TERRITORIES REGION
    1.  PRINCE ALBERT, Saskatchewan
    Application (199702147) by SHAW CABLESYSTEMS (SASK) LTD., 480 - 171 West Esplanade, North Vancouver, British Columbia, V7M 3J9, to amend the broadcasting licence of the (cable) distribution undertaking serving Prince Albert, by being relieved by condition of licence, from the requirement of section 19 of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986 which states in part that:
    "A  licensee shall not alter or curtail
     any programming service or radiocommunication in the course of its distribution ..."
    The licensee proposes to curtail the signal of CITV-TV Edmonton and substitute the signal of the Saskatchewan Communications Network (SCN), during the Children's Miracle Network Telethon to be aired from 7:00 p.m., 31 May 1997 to 4:00 p.m., 1 June 1997.

    Application (199702155) by SWIFT CURRENT CABLEVISION LTD., P.O. Box 608, Swift Current, Saskatchewan, S9H 3N4, to amend the broadcasting licence of the (cable) distribution undertaking serving Swift Current, by being relieved by condition of licence, from the requirement of section 19 of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986 which states in part that:
    "A  licensee shall not alter or curtail
     any programming service or radiocommunication in the course of its distribution ..."
    The licensee proposes to curtail the signal of CITV-TV Edmonton and substitute the signal of the Saskatchewan Communications Network (SCN), during the Children's Miracle Network Telethon to be aired from 7:00 p.m., 31 May 1997 to 4:00 p.m., 1 June 1997.

    Application (199702519) by VIDEOTRON COMMUNICATIONS LTD. to amend the broadcasting licence of the (cable) distribution undertaking serving the above-mentioned localities, by being relieved by condition of licence, from the requirement of section 19 of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986 which states in part that:
    "A  licensee shall not alter or curtail
     any programming service or radiocommunication in the course of its distribution ..."
    The licensee proposes to curtail the signal of KHQ-TV Spokane, Washington and substitute the signal of CITV-TV Edmonton, during the Children's Miracle Network Telethon to be aired from 7:00 p.m., 31 May 1997 to 4:00 p.m., 1 June 1997.

    Applications (199702494, 199702502) by SHAW CABLESYSTEMS INC. to amend the broadcasting licences of the (cable) distribution undertakings serving the above-mentioned localities, by being relieved by condition of licence, from the requirement of section 19 of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986 which states in part that:
    "A  licensee shall not alter or curtail
     any programming service or radiocommunication in the course of its distribution ..."

    Intervention

    -  your intervention should clearly identify the application and indicate whether you support or oppose the application, or if you propose changes to it, with facts and grounds therefor. In the event that the application is brought to the oral phase of a hearing it would be helpful to the Commission if you would provide reasons why your written comments are not sufficient and an appearance is necessary;
    Your intervention will be considered by the Commission, and will form part of the public record of the proceeding without further notification to you, provided the procedure set out above has been followed. You will be contacted only if your submission raises procedural questions.
