Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1988-198 dated 1 December 1988, the Commission approves the application for authority to transfer effective control of CMD Cable Company Inc., licensee of the broadcasting receiving undertaking serving Fort Coulonge and Mansfield, through the transfer of three common voting shares, reprenting 60% of the issued shares, from Greg Ward (20%), George Campbell (20%) and Lucie Campbell (20%) to the two remaining shareholders, Marina and James Chugg.

As a result of this transaction, the licensee company will be controlled equally by Marina and James Chugg.

The Commission notes that the undertaking serving Fort Coulonge and Mansfield has approximately 480 subscribers. It also notes that the three vendor shareholders have indicated that they have neither additional financial resources nor the time to devote to the operation of the undertaking.

In view of the financial situation of the undertaking and the commitment given by Marina and James Chugg to maintain the current service and to invest additional funds as required, commensurate with available resources, to serve all of the areas authorized including Davidson, and to improve the range of services offered to subscribers by adding FM radio services and the TQS network service, the Commission is satisfied that this transaction will benefit the communities served and that approval is in the public interest.
