Subject: Proposed increase in Telus BC's residential basic rate - TELUS Se rvice Improvement Plan

I do not support TELUS being given the flexibility to raise its rates for

local service by up to $3 per month per year to a maximum monthly rate of

$35 per month for residential customers. As someone who is about to become a

retired senior citizen, and who lives in a rural area, I regard the proposed

increase as a form of legalised extortion, deeply affecting our most

vulnerable citizens, who depend on the telephone for health and safety, but

soon will not be able to afford it.
