The proposed hike in telephone rates to the rural dweller - or to any residence for that matter - is nothing short of GREED and is an ailment common to so many conglomerates. The increase will be a particular burden on seniors, such as myself, who barely exist on the present remunerations granted us by the Canadian Government. A pitiful thankyou for having given of our all during the past 50 or so years. Yet, it is we who will most likely need a telephone.
I have never done this before but I can see it becoming all too common with the current trend...........I implore you, turn down this application or at least, exclude seniors who live out in the boonies. I do, for peace and peace of mind but on two occasions I have had to use 911 for medical reasons. Ergo - I need my personal telephone. Thank you.
Respectfully submitted.
