Subject: Rural and Urban Rates

Dear Commisioners,

I have read the proposal of Aliant to increase telephone rates to both low

cost and high cost service areas on PEI, with higher rate increases in rural

areas. I live in an urban setting but would like support an

accross-the-board pricing system which does not penalize rural telephone

users. An alternate proposal which reflects costs on a Provincial basis

would be acceptable to me. I cannot comment on the actual price increases

being proposed, or on the need to have rates similar to those in NS, but I

trust the latter premise will be examined closely by the Commission.

Thank you for reading this opinion.

Sincerely,

Rosemary Curley
