Subject: proposed increase in residential rates

I am dismayed to see that a corporation that is, I expect, realizing profits every year, is proposing to penalize customers who happen to have chosen to live in a "serviced" area.

Improvements and upgrades for underserved areas should be paid for from corporate profits, not from customers who are already paying plenty for the service.

Maybe the problem is that TELUS needs to have some competition to force them to keep the rates down. If you do, in fact raise the rates, we will have to cancel the "optional" conveniences of call waiting, call display etc.. So in the end you will in fact be getting less money per month than we pay for the service as it is. I expect we will not be alone in finding ways to keep our bottom line where it is now, or lower!
