Re Telus asking for a $3 increase to pay for unserved or under served communities. In 10 years since 1991, my monthly rate has gone from $11.65 to $25.83, a 122% increase. Now they want to make it a 149% increase. By having fully served customers pay 96% of the cost of unserved and 100% of under served areas. People living in these areas do so by choice and should not expect others to pay for such services. Do people in the boon docks pay for city transit services? No, of course not! In some cases such service would be to second or third homes, cottages etc. and these people should darn well pay for such hard – wired service. Why should others pay up to $250,00 for provide service to 10 residents and those 10 only pay $10,000?
Turn Telus down!
