Subject: Telus submission

We would like to provide the CRTC with our opinion on the Telus proposals as floows:

1. Subsidization of the Service Improvement plan- This should not be subsidized by other rate payers. If these communities need an upgrade the cost should be shouldered by the individual householder or they should be provided with a government grant to cover the cost.

2. Telus competed in the long distance market under the understanding that their local rates would be CRTC controlled. Now they want a wide degree of freedom to increase these rates. Their proposal for business customers of not more than 10%/year is incredible. I trust the business customers are reading the small print and react. Telus should compete like all the rest of the private companies.

Thank you for listening to us.  We are seniors on a fixed income and worry about the ever increasing costs
