Re Aliant Telcom Proposal:

If Aliant Telcom truly wants a fair rate do not make rural areas subsidize urban areas.

Urban areas actually drive the cost of phone service up because the real estate costs are much higher in Halifax than Whycocomagh. Aliant Telcom could move their expensive Martime Mall

offices to rural areas of the province. This would be a huge savings to the company and it would not matter where a communications company is located.
