Telephone Service QUESTIONAIRE
Rural rates and urban rates
Should rural rates be higher than urban rates?
Absolutely not. This is an issue of equal access to services for all residents of Canada, not just the folks located in easy/cheap areas to service like urban residents.
COMPETITION
Is greater choice worth higher prices to you? Or should the CRTC let competition develop at current rates?
As stated above this is an issue of equal access not competition.
Quality of service
Have you noticed poor service quality (e.g., service outages, long waits for installation or service, missed appointments, bad lines) over the past few years?
Absolutely. I live in a remote rural area and often experiance erratic service. Also the issue of internet access is crucial to my work. As it is the connections are slow.
Do you think that phone companies should have to reimburse subscribers when the quality of service falls below a minimum standard?
Yes
