Subject: Price Cap Review and Related Issues
To whom it may concern;
I am a customer of Bell Canada and have had may problems and issues with my
service. I appreciate the chance to state my view and opinion for what it
may be worth.
Bell Canada has been charging for each individual service they offer and the
prices are not acceptable to me. They make up the message bundle that
people don't neccessararly want for services, if you want 3 you get 6 and so
on.
I am on a disability pension and I find the price of my phone bill is crazy.
It is hard to make ends meet some months. The cost of living and having
services that are helpful or neccessary keeps going up and the minimum wage
isn't.
If the cost of phone services continues to increase then you will not be
able to state "Close to 99 per cent of Canadians have basic telephone
service, a higher percentage than in the U.S." people will not continue to
receive this service since it would become unaffordable.
Maybe Canadians do benifit from the world's lowest prices for Internet
access, but the service they offer isn't that good. Personally I do not and
will not receive internet service from Bell because of many problems and
hassles with the service as well as employees. I receice my service
elsewhere.
If I had a choice to receive basic phone services from another company I
would not hesitate to change over. This is a company that spends thousands
of dollars to have call centers call people as check if the are happy with
the service. When you reply with a problem they can not assist in any way.
Maybe a better plan would be to have less call center workers and put that
money where is is needed in the actual phone services that are not offered
to rural areas as well as to keep the cost for the public lower instead of
raising costs. From what I have seen when the government brings in new
taxes or a company raises prices it never ends up being used for what is
promised or stated.
Do Canadian's a favor and don't let this company raise their prices unless
there is a choice of companies to receive this service from. Why can't we
stay looking better than the U.S. That is one of the attractions to Canada.
Sincerely;
Ellen McEwen
