Subject: CRTC Review of Local Telephone Service Prices
I object to the increase for PEI Local Rates, which Aliant claims is required for various reasons.
PEI already contributes higher per-capita revenue and profit to Aliant and the increase is a further profit grab.
PEI does not enjoy the same long distance pricing and programs as Nova Scotia. For example, my Mother in Halifax pays $20 per month to call anytime within Canada. On PEI, the same plan is restricted to calls during off-peak hours. If Aliant is charging Nova Scotia Local Rates then they should provide all services competitive with Nova Scotia
