Subject: Telus - Rate Increase

Dear CRTC,

This is in response to a notice we received with our last Telus Bill asking for a rate increase.

How many times in the last few years does Telus need additional funds considering they have a virtual monopoly on local phone service here in Edmonton.

I have read over some of the documentation submitted by Telus. Without taking a week to read all of the contents over these rate increases cannot be justified in any way shape or form.

1) Business rates are already too high and should be reduced. How they can double or triple the rates over residential service especially to small business is outrageous.

2) Knowing a few Telus employees who continually tell me they are way overpaid for what they do tells me that Telus needs to look at their costs before asking for rate increases. A little salary reduction might increase their bottom line.

I suggest you strongly deny Telus the ability to raise rates yet again.

Yours Truly,

Byron Prochnau
