Subject: Rate increases for Telus.

Sirs,

I write to express my opposition to any plan giving Telus rights to

increase telephone rates to pay for an extension of their services.

Telus is already charging too much for the poor services they provide.

They have recently foisted upon B.C.customers a 10 digit dialling system

for all calls, which I believe was technically unecessary, and has been

done as a cheap way of servicing customers in order to protect the company

profit margins. I and many others known to me, find that roughly 50% of

local calls have to be redialled now in order to make connections.

I expect the CRTC to bear in mind the monopoly position of Telus,

and protect consumers. I plan to discuss this matter with my member of the

Feeral parliament.
