The CRTC collects information on an annual basis in order to monitor
the state of the telecommunications industry in Canada . This year, in
order to reduce the reporting burden on generally smaller entities, the
CRTC has taken steps to stratify the industry.
Your organization has been identified as a member of the smaller Group
2 reporting entities, required only to complete the simplified Registration
Update process. Detail of this process and the criteria for selection
can be found in Telecom Circular 2005-4, Ottawa , 9 February 2005 .
Please find enclosed the following documents for the Registration Update
process:
- Annual CRTC Telecommunication Registration Update for Information
as at 31 December 2004 – this form contains pre-populated information
about your Reporting Entity, related to monitoring activities;
- Annual CRTC Telecommunication Registration List Update as at 31
December 2004 – this form contains pre-populated information
about your Reporting Entity, related to Telecommunications Registration
Lists; and
- Privacy Notice – this document explains the purpose and use
of certain personal information that is collected as part of the Registration
Update process.
Please complete and submit the attached forms to the CRTC in the enclosed
stamped self-addressed envelope by 31 March 2005 .
