WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!
OTTAWA-HULL - In keeping with the strategies outlined in its Vision document,
which sets out its long-term goals, the CRTC is attempting to make it easier for the
public to participate in its processes. The Commission, therefore, wishes to invite
members of the public to an informal consultation with a panel of CRTC Commissioners. This
will be an opportunity to express your views, concerns or questions regarding
Telecommunications or Broadcasting matters.
The consultations will be held on Sunday, 29 March, 1998 from 1:30 p.m. to
6:00 p.m. at the Saint John Hilton, One Market Square, Saint John, N.B. in
Kennebecasis Rooms I & II.
The only subjects of discussion restricted during this forum will be applications
currently being considered by the Commission in other formal proceedings. For instance,
the application by NBTel, scheduled at the public hearing beginning on March 30th, is
subject to formal intervention procedures.
In order to allow for as many participants as possible, presentations will generally be
limited to 10 minutes. Although written documents are not required, they will be
accepted. To participate in this open forum, please register either by phone or by fax
with our Halifax office by March 26, 1998 indicating your name and the subject(s) you wish
to discuss.
If you require communications support such as assistive listening devices or sign
language interpretation, let us know by March 19, 1998. Simultaneous translation will be
provided and a court reporter will ensure proper transcriptions of the proceeding.
If you have any specific questions, please contact us and we will be pleased to answer
them. We look forward to hearing from you.
