- English Version Only - "Hard Copy Document" 1998/12/11 - Commission Letter DESCRIPTION: Commission Letter addressed to Call-Net Enterprises Inc. - Call-Net Communications Inc. is recognized as a CLEC at this time in order to make the arrangements necessary to allow it to provide local switched services. FILE NAME: 981211e.doc - MS*Word - 23 KB 1998/05/19 - Telecom Order CRTC 98-486 (MS*Word) - This Decision provides the Commissions findings related to transiting of traffic in a local competition environment. The findings related to Points of Interconnection are also outlined. 1998/01/29 - Telecom Order CRTC 98-60 (MS*Word) - Roll-out of Local Number Portability (LNP). File No.: 96-2376. The dates for the roll-out are provided in Attachment 1 of the Order. 1998/01/26 - Telecom Order CRTC 98-40 (MS*Word) - Standards and Common Channel Signalling #7 (CCS7). File No.: 96-2376. The Commission is of the view that the Stentor member companies must take appropriate action to have the calling name parameter delivered to interconnecting networks in a form compatible with the common interface standard. The CRTC Interconnection Steering Committee (CISC) is the appropriate body to provide the Commission with recommendations regarding the standards that should be adhered to for network interconnection and interoperation. The minimum message set required at this time will consist of messages necessary for: Basic SS7 Call Control, Calling Line Identification Presentation and Restriction Services, and Call Forwarding Services; and support of LEC (local exchange carrier) multi-laterally supported services and mandated internetworking such as LNP (local number portability). The interface provided by a carrier shall be compatible with GR-317. Where protocol conversion is required, the carrier required to bring its protocol to the approved common interface standard will be responsible for the costs. 1998/01/07 - Telecom Order CRTC 98-01 (MS*Word) - FILE #: 8638-C12-05/97 - Residential Network Access Service (NAS), in respect of which a local exchange carrier (LEC) is eligible to receive contribution, is defined as the NAS used by the LEC to offer residential switched two-way local voice services in the exchanges within which it operates as a LEC. Carriers are not required to operate as competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs) in all exchanges where they operate. 1997/09/05 - Telecom Order CRTC 97-1243 (MS*Word) - Local Number Portability will allow subscribers to change service providers while maintaining their existing telephone number. The Commission has sought comment on several matters upon which the parties have been unable to agree. This Order relates to two of these matters, 1) the appropriate mechanisms for funding the establishment and operation of the Number Portability Administration Centre/Service Management System and 2) the appropriate voting structure within the Consortium. 1997/05/01 - Telecom Decision CRTC 97-08 (MS*Word) - Local Competition. 1997/05/01 - Telecom Order CRTC 97-591 (MS*Word) - Responsibility for carrier specific costs for the provision of local number portability (LNP). The Commission considers it essential that appropriate roll-out criteria are established to ensure that resources are used efficiently. The Commission will request the CRTC Interconnection Steering Committee to study the issue of roll-out criteria for LNP and make recommendations to the Commission no later than 18 July 1997. The Commission also recognizes that there is a need to determine the means by which the Stentor-member companies will recover their costs specific to LNP. The Commission will initiate a proceeding to address this issue shortly. |
