Kandahar Air Field

This air field is the headquarters for the NATO Multi National Brigade for Regional Command South, made up of troops from Canada, the U.S., the U.K., the Netherlands, Australia, Estonia and Romania. The brigade is under Dutch command as of November 2006.

Camp Nathan Smith

Located within Kandahar, this camp is the base of the Canadian provincial reconstruction team of 220 people from the Canadian Forces, Foreign Affairs, the Canadian International Development Agency and the RCMP. The camp is named after a Canadian soldier who was killed in a friendly fire incident in 2002.
