Interest-Based Negotiation and Mediation Training (Labour Relations)

Training session offered by the Public Service Labour Relations Board

This two-and-a-half day interactive training session gives participants an opportunity to acquire basic skills in mediation and interest-based negotiation. It also provides an opportunity to review questions related to conflict and to the issue of communication between the parties.

Participants will have an opportunity to apply the various skills and techniques taught in the course through role playing (negotiations and grievance mediations). The training session will also enable participants to share their opinions on various points related to mediation.

The target audience includes people such as labour relations officers, managers/ supervisors, Union representatives, classification officers, and others involved in this area, such as employee assistance program officers involved in the resolution of workplace disputes in the Public Service of Canada.

Registration for the training sessions is on a "first-come - first served" basis and will be limited to approximately 25 participants per session. There must be a minimum of 20 registrants or the session will be cancelled. Please note that this training session is offered free of charge.
