JOB DESCRIPTION: The Department of Canadian Heritage seeks innovative, motivated, and creative students for a wide variety of jobs, for summer 2007 and on an ongoing part-time basis. The Department is responsible for national policies and programs involving broadcasting, cultural industries, arts, heritage, official languages, Canadian identity, Canadian symbols, exchanges, multiculturalism, and sport. DEPARTMENT/AGENCY: Canadian Heritage

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION OF POSITION: National Capital Region, Moncton, Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver

THE DEPARTMENT WILL MAKE THE MAJORITY OF REQUESTS FOR REFERRALS BY THIS DATE: Summer 2007

DURATION OF EMPLOYMENT: Part-time opportunities beginning in October 2006. Full-time opportunities beginning in summer 2007.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Bilingualism (French & English) required for most jobs.

FIELDS OF STUDY: May include any that reflect the diverse nature of the Department's responsibilities.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  1. General Computer Use (1100)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. Students must be at the post-secondary level.
  2. Students must have strong communication skills (oral and written). Interests and/or skills related to the Department of Heritage's mandate, e.g. Arts (5301), Culture (5302), Human Rights (5311), Cultural Industries (7014), Multiculturalism (7010), New Media (7013)
