JOB DESCRIPTION: The Department of Canadian Heritage seeks innovative, motivated, and creative students for a wide variety of jobs, for summer 2007 and on an ongoing part-time basis. The Department is responsible for national policies and programs involving broadcasting, cultural industries, arts, heritage, official languages, Canadian identity, Canadian symbols, exchanges, multiculturalism, and sport. GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION OF POSITION: National Capital Region, Moncton, Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver

THE DEPARTMENT WILL MAKE THE MAJORITY OF REQUESTS FOR REFERRALS BY THIS DATE: Summer 2007

DURATION OF EMPLOYMENT: Part-time opportunities beginning in October 2006. Full-time opportunities beginning in summer 2007.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Bilingualism (French & English) required for most jobs.

FIELDS OF STUDY: May include any that reflect the diverse nature of the Department's responsibilities.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

1. General Computer Use (1100)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

1. Students must be at the post-secondary level.
2. Students must have strong communication skills (oral and written). Interests and/or skills related to the Department of Heritage's mandate, e.g. Arts (5301), Culture (5302), Human Rights (5311), Cultural Industries (7014), Multiculturalism (7010), New Media (7013)
