JOB DESCRIPTION:

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) is seeking motivated and innovative students to work in Canada’s agriculture and agri-food sector. AAFC research provides the agriculture and agri-food industry with important information, research, and technology that helps achieve security of the food system, health of the environment, and innovation for growth to strengthen the Canadian economy.

AAFC offers student positions across the country providing valuable work experience through practical and meaningful employment. There is a wide scope of positions available, ranging from administrative support, to project management, to communications, to science, to information technology and much much more!

THE DEPARTMENT WILL MAKE THE MAJORITY OF REQUESTS FOR REFERRALS BY THIS DATE: On-going, Year-round.

DURATION OF EMPLOYMENT: Employment is available throughout the year, but the majority is centered in the summer months.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. Applicants must be a member of one of the following employment equity groups: Aboriginal Peoples (First Nations, Metis and Inuit), visible minorities, persons with a disability or women in fields of study indicated below (Note1).

    Note1 : Women with the following fields of study are eligible to apply, as these fields of study correspond to the occupations where women are currently under-represented at AAFC:

    • Agricultural and Food Sciences - all codes listed under this general field of study
    • Biology - all codes listed under this general field of study
    • Business Administration - all codes listed under this general field of study
    • Computer - all codes listed under this general field of study
    • Actuarial Science - code 4103
    • Drafting - code 5148
    • Earth Sciences – all codes listed under this general field of study
    • Economics - code 3233
    • Mathematics - code 4170

  2. Non employment equity group members must apply to the FSWEP general inventory.

  3. Applicants must be eligible to obtain security clearance before starting employment with AAFC.
