Post-Secondary Recruitment (PSR) Fall 2006 Campaign

Please read the following message completely and carefully as it contains important details pertaining to the PSR Fall Campaign and Testing sessions

This Fall, the Post-Secondary Recruitment (PSR) annual campaign will commence September 5th, 2006. Career choices will be posted on an ongoing basis beginning September 5th, for periods of two to five weeks. Therefore, candidates are encouraged to visit our website regularly, to ensure that they are fully aware of all potential employment opportunities.

This year, there will be a wide variety of career choices to apply on. The following are a sampling of what is being offered:

Environmental Assessment Officer
Intelligence Officers
Border Services Officers
Programs Officers
Policy Development Officers
Management Trainees
Accelerated Economist Trainees
Mathematical Statisticians
Supply Officer Trainees
Human Resources Officers
Financial Officers / Internal Auditors (FORD/IARD) - (Note: This career choice will have two advertisements this year - one Fall career choice for December 2006 graduates AND one Winter career choice for June/August 2007 graduates.)

In addition to the career choices being offered, we will also be administering the following tests on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21ST, 2006 across Canada and at selected locations overseas: (Note that only certain positions offered through PSR require testing)

  1. Graduate Recruitment Test (GRT 316)
  2. Written Communication Proficiency Test (WCPT 351)
  3. Situational Judgment Test (SJT 318)

Candidates must register for tests online as part of the application process for career choices that list specific tests as a requirement. Failure to do so will result in the rejection of your application.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE: Any candidates requiring special accommodations in order to write tests for PSR must contact their nearest Public Service Commission office. as soon as possible to complete the appropriate forms. Failure to do so could result in processing delays for your application.

Candidate should only bring the following items to the test location:

  1. Candidate number (i.e. S123456)
  2. A Photo ID

Please arrive at the test site at least 30 minutes before the start time. Late comers WILL NOT be permitted to enter the exam room. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are aware of the test date and time.

Candidates who have previously written these exams and who do not wish to re-write them, are encouraged to refer to the Test Information link on this website to verify the test names and reference numbers with those listed above. If you are unsure as to whether or not you have written the appropriate tests, please contact the Personnel Psychology Centre (PPC) immediately for confirmation. You can submit your request to obtain a confirmation of previous test results by sending a request by e-form or by fax to the PPC. Please visit http://www.psc-cfp.gc.ca/ppc/test_result_e.htm for information. Further consideration will not be given to applicants who are not registered for the appropriate tests after the closing date of the advertisement.
