The PSC's employment equity activities provide leadership and support to human resources professionals developing and implementing employment equity strategies and approaches.

Past initiatives include:

• Employment Equity Mainstreaming Initiative (EEMI)
  The Treasury Board approved on March 14, 2002 funding for the PSC in 2002-03 and 2003-04 to undertake and support positive policies and practices in recruitment and retention systems.
  
  
• Embracing Change
  This April 2000 multi-year Action Plan is aimed at increasing the participation of visible minorities within the federal Public Service.
  
  
• Employment Equity Positive Measures Program (EEPMP)
  The EEPMP, which was approved to help build employment equity capacity in the federal government, concluded on March 31, 2002 after four years in operation. It's legacy includes a comprehensive collection of employment equity best practices.
