Education

  • Master's degree from a recognised university with acceptable specialisation in clinical, forensic or counselling psychology or in another psychological speciality relevant to the position.

Occupational Certification

  • Applicants must demonstrate in their application that they meet the following merit criteria to be retained for further consideration.
    • Registration for autonomous practice of psychology by the provincial registering/licensing body in the province of practice (Member of Ordre des psychologues du Québec).

Experience

Experience in the provision of psychological services (including mental health services), such as assessment, counselling or other psychological services with adults, either to groups or individuals.

Work Environment

Psychological services are offered in federal penitentiaries (sentence of two years or more).
Inmates may have a minimum, medium or maximum-security classification.
