PhD from a recognized university with a specialization in electrical or telecommunications engineering or another engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.

Experience

Experience in working with mobile ad hoc routing protocols.

Experience in working with wireless network security.

  • CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: Reliability Status. This factor is not used at the preselection stage. The Department is responsible for the security clearance process.

Challenge

The Communications Research Centre (CRC), is an agency of Industry Canada that conducts leading edge research and development on a broad range of communications and related technologies.

DUTIES:

Performs research and development on a broad range of communication technologies and other related technologies.
Identifies new scientific research opportunities, plans projects, undertakes scientific research activities independently or as a team member, in support of CRC/IC objectives and priorities in the area of optical communications devices.
Communicates results of scientific research to the international scientific community through written publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals and reports, and through oral presentations at conferences, workshops, seminars, etc.
Maintains an expert knowledge base in optical communications and electrophotonics.
