Education

Useful Information

Graduation from a recognized university with a specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics and experience related to positions in the Financial Management Group.

OR

Eligibility for a recognized professional accounting designation (CA, CMA or CGA).

Experience

Significant experience in the areas of business and financial planning and budgeting, budgetary control, financial reporting and financial analysis in a computerized environment.

Significant experience in preparing, analyzing and interpreting corporate financial planning, budgeting and reporting documents.

Extensive experience in providing advice to senior managers in the areas of financial management.

Significant experience in using an enterprise resource planning system (SAP).

Significant experience in interpreting, developing and implementing financial policies.

NOTE:
Extensive experience: The scope and depth of the experience must be comprehensive and must include a broad range of applications.

Significant experience: The experience must be meaningful and must include practical hands-on operation. The experience must exceed short-term use, general familiarity or once-in-a lifetime use. It excludes knowledge based primarily on reading, education or training courses. It also excludes trainee and apprenticeship-level knowledge and experience.

Other Merit Criteria and Conditions of Employment

  • You must be willing and able to work overtime (occasionally on week-ends), often on short notice.

Secret Security Clearance. This factor is not used at the preselection stage. The Department is responsible for the security clearance process.
