Successful completion of secondary school education according to provincial/territorial standards or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Experience

Previous experience performing general clerical duties such as filing, file maintenance, reception, ordering office supplies, processing mail and preparing correspondence.

Recent experience in the operation and maintenance of computer software databases.

Recent experience in the operation of Windows based software applications such as Word Perfect or Microsoft Word.

Statement of Merit Criteria

Applicants who meet the above criteria will also be assessed against the Statement of Merit Criteria for this position.

Challenge

Creates, maintains, reviews, retrieves, researches, archives, and purges operational records systems.

Creates, maintains, reviews, retrieves, researches, archives, and purges administrative records to comply with records keeping policies and procedures.

Provides front counter service by receiving, directing and responding to general enquiries, as well as concerns and questions regarding federal and territorial statutes and municipal by-laws either by telephone or in person.

Drafts, types, creates and verifies with members the correct information on a file using the Criminal Code and Motor Vehicle Act to create accurate court documents that must conform to legal practices (Court Liaison Officer).

Compiles, verifies and submits invoices for payment and receivable under Section 34 of the Financial Services Act.

Provides regular maintenance of; workstations, facsimile, transcriber, photocopier and printers. (Local Area Network Co-ordinate).

Transcribes audio tapes of witness, victim, warned and KGB statements.

Requisitions supplies and maintains inventories for the detachment.
