Graduation with a degree from a recognized university in Civil Engineering or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.

Occupational Certification

Experience

Experience in planning and managing projects for life cycle management of assets, and managing human and financial resources.

Experience in the procurement of consultant and construction services in relation to built works.

Experience in dealing with different levels of government and the private sector.

Experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams.

Experience in providing professional engineering expertise, advice and guidance.

  • OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
    - Possess a valid driver's license (all locations).
    - Willingness to travel (all locations).
    - Work or travel in a variety of terrains and degrees of isolation for various periods of time in all weather conditions (all locations).

    For the position located in Thunder Bay only: travel by various means of transportation such as fixed wing aircrafts, helicopters and boats.

    For the position located in Charlottetown only: willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform.

Work Environment

The Parks Canada Agency was founded on April 1, 1999 with the status of separate employer within the Canadian public service. Challenge

Manages the development and delivery of an asset management program, operations and services for the maintenance and improvement of Parks Canada assets in a Field Unit/Park/Site characterized by program, operational and engineering challenges strategic and high in complexity and scope or provides strategic functional direction to more than one Field Unit or Sites within a Field Unit and manages high complexity capital projects.

  • These positions are based on Existing Resources.
