Education

Useful Information

A degree from a recognized Canadian university in Business Administration, Commerce or law.

OR

A professional accounting accreditation, i.e. CA, CGA, CMA.

OR

Several years experience in analyzing Canadian capital market crime acquired in an operational support capacity (e.g. in a Commercial Crime Section/Branch, an Integrated Market Enforcement Team/Branch or a Criminal Intelligence Directorate, etc).

Your resume must clearly demonstrate how you meet the educational requirements.

Note: Successful candidates will be expected to satisfactorily complete the Canadian Securities Course offered by the Canadian Securities Institute within one year.

Experience

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Experience is required in EACH of the following areas:
. Two years experience in researching, writing, analyzing, and editing documents.
. One year experience in project management, reviewing and formulating recommendations and advice.
. One year experience working with computers and word processing software such as WordPerfect and specialized database software to analyze complex data and develop analytical reports and charts.

    • Willingness to undergo and successfully pass a Top Secret RCMP security clearance.

Challenge

• Reviewing, evaluating and analyzing a wide variety of specialized periodicals, journals, research papers and intelligence reports produced by national and international experts, and establishing a network of sources and contacts both within and outside of the RCMP, in order to maintain subject area expertise and to identify trends or patterns which may affect Canada, or foreign countries, relative to the Criminal Intelligence Directorate (CID) mandate.
• Providing expert advice and researching, preparing and writing complex reports, intelligence assessments and strategic analytical projects relative to the CID program plan on crime trends in Canada and abroad as they affect Canada. Primary clients include the Commissioner’s Secretariat, the Criminal Intelligence Management Steering Committee (CIMSC), senior HQ and Division officers, field level investigators, Criminal Intelligence Service of Canada (CISC), the Privy Council, other government departments and various national and international fora.
• Providing intelligence support to field units in urgent situations where a strategic view will provide insight into a local problem.
• Acting as an expert resource for other police departments, intelligence agencies , governments and the private sector, with RCMP policies, mandates and interests at the forefront.
• Performing other related duties as required.
