Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in social work.

NOTE: Social workers who were eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Social Workers prior to May 1, 1975 are recognized as having met the minimum education standard prescribed above.

Occupational Certification

  • Applicants must demonstrate in their application that they meet the following merit criteria to be retained for further consideration.
    • Current registration/membership with the Canadian Association of Social Workers or equivalent provincial regulatory body with jurisdiction applicable for the province of work.

Experience

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Experience is required in EACH of the following areas:

. Experience providing psycho-social assessment, therapy and counselling services to clients and their families.
. Experience in crisis intervention.

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:
• Willingness to undergo and successfully pass an enhanced reliability security clearance.

  • Organizational Needs which may apply for this position.

  • The following merit criteria may be required for this position. Applicants should indicate in their application if they meet the merit criteria.
    • Degree with emphasis or specialization in the area of clinical social work would be an asset.
    • Masters Degree in social work.
    • Significant experience treating one or more of the following issues: substance abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, anger management, family conciliation, and mood disorders.
    • Experience providing presentations.

Work Environment

Work is performed on a military base working with military members and civilian personnel.
