Experience

The positions that will be staffed from this inventory will require education/training or experience in one or more of the following:

Administrative Assistant: experience in providing administrative support to a manager.

Client Service: experience in a Call Centre, at a Service Counter or some other service position where you provide information to the public, explain programs and/or policies and process claims or requests for services or benefits.

Reception: experience in the provision of basic information in person at a counter or reception desk or by telephone to the general public.

Finance Clerk: experience in performing such duties as processing travel claims, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and review of monthly reports e.g. budget.

General Administrative Support Clerk: experience in the provision of general clerical support such as dealing with the public to request or provide basic information, file set-up and maintenance, photocopying, form completion, e-mail, and other basic clerical functions.

Human Resources Assistant: experience in staffing, training and development, or another area within Human Resources.

Filing and Records: experience providing support services in a records environment, focusing mainly on the classifying, storing, and retrieving of data located in paper or computer files.

Mailroom/Courier: experience in the sorting and delivery of mail at regular intervals and handling incoming and outgoing mail including couriered items.

Procurement Clerical Support: experience in handling a supply inventory, boardroom booking and set-up, administration of telephone and other office services.

Data Processing: experience in data entry and/or other duties such as preparing batch jobs.

Organizational Needs: Membership in one of the four designated employment equity groups.

Work Environment

We are currently recruiting candidates for inclusion in the Administrative Support Inventory (positions at the CR-02, CR-03, CR-04, CR-05 levels) for possible future vacancies in various federal government departments located in the Halifax Regional Municipality. From time to time we may post unique types of temporary or permanent vacancies which cannot be filled through the existing Administrative Support Inventory. Candidates should verify the posted vacancies on a regular basis.

The inventory will be updated every 90 days and an email notice will be sent to your account. You will be granted 20 days to determine whether or not you wish to keep your account active. Please ensure that your account is up-to-date. Searches in the inventory will be conducted, for specific positions, upon receipt of an employment request from a department. Searches will be carried out according to the statement of merit criteria developed by the department. Candidates who meet the requirements of the position will be invited, by email, to confirm their interest in having their candidacy presented to the department.
