Introduction

This Web version of the Répertoire de vedettes-matière (RVM) provides access to more than 200 000 French subject headings and their English equivalents, as well as some 30 lists of subdivisions applicable to these headings. The RVM database and the Lists of Subdivisions are updated monthly.

Created in June 1998, and redesigned in September 2003, the Web version of the RVM is the product of a collaboration between Library and Archives Canada and the Bibliothèque de l'Université Laval.

RVM is a fee-based service, the subscriptions to which are managed by the Bibliothèque de l'Université Laval. To consult the database containing headings and subdivisions, click here: RVM : headings and subdivisions.

However, the Lists of Subdivisions and the lists of Monthly Changes recently adopted by the RVM are available free of charge.
