Based on the collections of Library and Archives Canada, Bon appétit! offers an introduction to the fascinating subject of Canadian culinary history.
Beginning with an introduction to Native foods and cooking techniques, the exhibition continues through the cooking methods and recipes of the pioneers, and the coming of science to the kitchen at the turn of the 20th century, and includes the many multicultural and regional influences that give our culinary history its distinctive flavour.

This event is sold out. A limited number (approximately 150) overflow tickets will be available at the door for $8. The auditorium foyer will seat the overflow audience, who will see and hear Dr. Suzuki via audio/video feed and will have the opportunity to ask questions and have a book signed as those in the auditorium.
The Box Office table at Library and Archives Canada will open at 6:00 p.m. on February 21. Overflow tickets will only be available on a first come, first served basis.

Robert Grenier, O.C., Chief, Underwater Archaeology, Parks Canada, will present an illustrated autobiography of his life and career in underwater archaeology. The fourth-century B.C. Greek vessel the Kyrenia will be highlighted, and particular emphasis will be placed on the Basque whaling ship found in Red Bay, off the Newfoundland-Labrador coast.

The evening includes presentations by David Smith, an Ottawa-area businessman and philanthropist; Prof. David Divine, James R. Johnston Chair; and Ian E. Wilson, Librarian and Archivist of Canada.

The Canadian Archaeological Expedition to Syria: Tell 'Acharneh in the Orontes Valley
