About This Site

This site was developed by Library and Archives Canada, which is the official repository for the archives of the late concert pianist, Glenn Gould. A supremely gifted artist and Canada's most renowned classical musician of the 20th century, Gould was a recording artist, radio and television broadcaster and producer, writer and an outspoken apologist for the electronic media.

A special thanks to Cheryl Gillard, Maureen Nevins and Gilles St-Laurent for their contribution in the re-engineering of this website. Thanks to the Estate of Glenn Gould and Glenn Gould Limited (represented by Minden Gross Grafstein and Greenstein), the Canadian Museum of Civilization as well as Kevin Bazzana and Ray Roberts, for supplying personal memorabilia to Library and Archives Canada for digitization on this website.

This site was originally sponsored by Industry Canada and is available for viewing through their website Canada's Digital Collections http://collections.ic.gc.ca/. Subsequent phases of this site have been sponsored by Bell Canada through Stentor Alliance.

We also gratefully acknowledge the financial assistance of the Department of Canadian Heritage, whose Canadian Cultural Online Program (CCOP) made the re-engineering of this website possible.
