Permits, Licenses and Renewals

Authorizations to Practice in the Hairstylist, Electrologist and Esthetician

For the trades of Hairstylist, Electrologist and Esthetician, the Apprenticeship Branch issues an Authorization to Practice with the Certificate of Qualification. This Authorization to Practice must be renewed every two years and must be available upon request at the work site. A person cannot legally work in the Hairstylist, Electrologist or Esthetician trades without a valid Authorization to Practice.

If you are an industry practitioner with a Certificate of Qualification and an Authorization to Practice in one of these trades, the Apprenticeship Branch will send you a renewal notice, with a renewal form, prior to the expiry of your Authorization to Practice. Please ensure that the Branch is kept informed of any changes to your personal information (including name and address changes).
