ETS Virtual Employment Centre

Employment centres across Manitoba offer a wide range of services for unemployed Manitobans and the employer community. The Virtual Employment Centre makes information about these services available on-line.

Financial Assistance

Funding is available for eligible students in the form of loans, grants or specialized bursaries while they attend post-secondary studies. Employees registered under the Apprenticeship program can apply for funding related to their training sessions as well as for a certain amount of living costs. For those students or teachers interested in improving their French language skills, financial assistance combined with unique employment opportunities are available.

Job Preparation Tool Kit

Learn how to prepare for a job interview, construct various types of résumes and cover letters as well as identify personal skills and goals.

Labour Market Information

Provides job seekers with information such as demographics, occupational trends, wage rates, high demand skills, and many other labour market topics.

Prior Learing Assessment

Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) is a process which captures and recognizes and individual's learning in the workplace, in the classroom and in the community. PLAR can describe competencies and help to measure performance while documenting the skills and knowledge needed for a job.

Skills Upgrading

Adult Learning and Literacy (ALL) provides grants to adult learning centres and part-time community-based literacy programs to provide services that focus on upgrading the skills of adult learners. Adult learners can achieve goals such as, gaining beginning level to more advanced literacy skills, job readiness training, improving family literacy skills, computer skills upgrading, and obtaining high school credentials so they can access higher education and/or better employment opportunities.
